It's hard to blog when most of your day is spent holding a precious newborn, but I can't go any longer without sharing details of my sweet little one!
Lincoln Kirk Knowlton was born October 6, 2011 at 12:17 pm. He weighed 8 lbs 3 oz and was 21 inches long. He has lots of light hair that is really long in the back and oh-so-soft. The first few weeks of his life he had the chubbiest cheeks I have ever seen! I miss them. Everyone says he looks like Aaron but I'm not sure yet if he really does or if it's just because he looks so BOY! Aaron's dad said if we put him in a dress and a hair bow people still wouldn't think he's a girl, they would just wonder why we'd dress a boy that way. I think he has Aaron's nose and ears and my lips and toes. The eyes are still undecided.
He sleeps very well and has since he was three days old. He can go 5 hours straight at night so I've been getting enough sleep, just not consecutively. He is also a STRONG boy! He could hold his head up the day he was born and has rolled over from tummy to back twice! He is very expressive with his hands and uses them a lot. My visiting teachee thinks he will be a pianist :).
Aaron is a great dad and loves the time he has at home with us but thinks it's never enough. I gave Lincoln and I nicknames pretty early on and use them more than our real names! We are Little Mister & Miss Mama :). I have enjoyed many special moments with him where I can really feel the spirit and just know he is a sweet blessing from God. He really makes our family feel more complete. I feel so lucky to have caring for him be my full time job, even though it is the most difficult and exhausting job I've ever had!Lincoln has been so lucky to have special time with all of his grandparents. My parents live in town and love seeing him several days a week. Aaron's mom flew out for a week just after he was born and we really appreciated the help she gave us and the cuddles she gave him! Aaron's dad was just here this weekend for Lincoln's baby blessing.
Baby's blessing was such a special day! He was exactly a month old and sweet as could be. He was wrapped in a blanket Aaron's sister Kimberly gave him that she got when in Bethlehem. He didn't make a peep during the blessing but he was very alert and playful. Aaron's blessing was very sweet - I wrote most of it down to keep in his baby book. I cried! He got fussy right after the blessing and I had to feed him, but he fell asleep after that and Aaron's dad held him for the rest of church.
Today we are celebrating his second month of life by being purposely lazy and cuddling lots. I love my sweet little boy!

Wow. I'm impressed you're blogging after only a month. way to go. I bet you even shower. Wow.
ReplyDeleteLove the update! I still think he has chubby cheeks and I love them. I agree with Grandpa Knowlton, even if you dressed him like a girl he would look like a boy. He's all boy that one!!!
